WORSHIP & MINISTRIES

Worship Information

Worship service is held every Sunday at 10:00am

WORSHIP

Worship Service is every Sunday at 10 a.m.

We enjoy worship with Scripture, prayer and music including traditional hymns and contemporary songs.

Holy Communion is celebrated at least twice each month.

A Social Hour is offered after service.

Bible Study is every Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Spend time with our Pastor as we consider the scripture lessons for the following Sunday. Enjoy time spent with others discussing the Bible and our life as followers of Christ.

OUR MINISTRIES

We offer many opportunities for you to get involved in the life of Crossroads UCC.

Adult Bible Study

Pastor Frank leads a Bible Study on Wednesday mornings at 10 a.m. in the Library. Each week we consider the Scripture readings for the upcoming Sunday. Everyone is welcome to join us anytime.

Music/Choir Ministry

Each week our service is beautifully enhanced by our Choir. Led by our music director, they sing loud and proud the praises of our Lord through the hymns selected by our pastor for each Sunday Service. They also might meet one night during the week to practice for an hour or two.

Audio/Visual Tech Teams

Volunteers team up to manage our audio-visual equipment each week for Sunday Service and other special occasions in the Audio-Visual Booth. Two or three volunteers make up a team with one managing the audio and recording, another the screens, and the third managing the video feed.

Greeters, Worship Leaders, and Communion Deacons

This ministry, led by our Senior Deacon, works during each Sunday Service to greet all attending, especially visitors to our church. The ministry also assists the pastor during our service by leading prayers, assisting with communion service, and assisting those in need.

Prayer Team Ministry

This group meets after worship to pray over the prayer requests submitted during service and throughout the week. All are welcome to join.

Snacks & Chats

Also known fondly as our Kitchenettes and Kitcheners, this group of dedicated volunteers produce the goodies that are served during fellowship after every Sunday Service. Sometimes it’s entire meals including baked goods, and sometimes it might be desserts and beverages. No matter what, they make it with love, and it tastes like it!

Eucharistic Ministry

These are church members who are trained by our Pastor to serve communion to all individuals not able to receive Communion at church. We visit those that are ill or homebound for any reason who want to receive the sacrament of communion.

Habitat for Humanity

This ministry partners with Habitat for Humanity of Brevard County each spring. During HH house builds, Crossroads prepares, delivers and serves lunch to the construction crews working the site. We usually pick two to three Saturdays of each build to do this wonderful and worthwhile activity.

Food 4 Families Ministry

We have partnered with a local elementary school (Croton Elementary) to provide food assistance to children and their families who are in need. We provide fundraising activities to purchase food cards that are then distributed each Friday during the school year to those most in need.

Crossroads Process Group

Led by a group facilitator who is also a member of our congregation, a process group is a caring group of people that meet to receive multiple perspectives, support, encouragement and feedback from others in a safe and confidential environment!  This group is open to everyone.

Women of Crossroads

The WOC meet on the first Sunday of every month at 11:45 a.m. after Sunday Worship. Their goal is to work with local charities to determine how Crossroads can assist in their mission. This is done through fundraising or donations to each charity. WOC provides assistance to local schools, children’s homes, etc. They also participate in the Florida United Church of Conference Annual Women’s meeting. All women who attend Crossroads UCC are welcome to attend and participate.

Grief Ministry

When loved ones and friends of Crossroads pass on, it is a very sad occasion. Our Grief Ministry, with the assistance of the “Stephens Ministries Grief Series,” provides comfort and prayer to the families of the deceased. We do this via the printed Grief Series along with visits and prayer healing.

Family Game Nights

Members get together from time to time for a Friday night of fun and laughter playing board and card games. The laughs never stop, and it does sometimes get a bit competitive.  Good wholesome fun for everyone and participants are encouraged to bring new types of games every time!

Potlucks/Lunches & Spaghetti Dinners

Several times per year and in conjunction with the Kitchenettes and Kitcheners, we do lunches or dinners. Sometimes these happen on special occasions like St. Patrick’s Day or Easter and Thanksgiving, and other times we will do Spaghetti Dinners on a Saturday night.  They are always fun filled, and the food is delicious. It takes a great deal of effort to put an event together, and we are always looking for volunteers to plan and execute and to eat all the great food!

Prayer & Meditation Labyrinth Ministry

Our model labyrinth located in Chartres, France is one of the most recognized labyrinths in the world. It was constructed in the 13th century, is approximately 42 feet in diameter and has an 11-circuit pattern. Our Labyrinth offers the inner circle, with a 7-circuit pathway, winding through a 30-foot diameter circle. The Crossroads Labyrinth and meditation area evolved from a vision to a reality through contributions of labor, funds, time, support, prayer and most importantly the grace of God. Our Labyrinth was created to provide a peaceful place where all are invited to grow spiritually through prayer and meditation.
